The governor in a condolence message said his service to the people as governor would be ever honoured and that in his demise people of Nagaland have lost a \u201cveteran thinker, linguist and a leader.\u201d Conveying \u201cheartfelt sympathy\u201d to the bereaved family members, the governor prayed God to grant them strength to bear the loss. Meanwhile, chief minister in a condolence message recounted the life of late Mishra and asserted that Nagas of \u201cyester generation\u201d can never forget the warmth he exuded towards every one when he briefly served as governor of Nagaland (additional charge). Also stating that his death was a great loss, the chief minister further prayed Almighty to rest the \u201ckind soul\u201d in peace.<br \/>\nSIT raid govt officials\u2019 residence<br \/>\nKOHIMA: Special Investigation Team (SIT) Vigilance &#038; Anti-Corruption raided residences of some government officials and recovered several incriminating documents. According to a brief press statement issued by J.I Yaden, DIGP (Hqr) Vigilance &#038; Anti Corruption here today, the raid was conducted at Kohima and Mokokchung districts on May 26 and 27 respectively and several incriminating documents pertaining to illegal and bogus appointment of teachers in the School Education Department were seized.  However, the statement did not divulge the identity or status of the government officials as well as any action taken against them if any. \t\t           (Correspondent)<br \/>\nRecognition of 5 new villages<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: State government has accorded recognition to newly established villages including \u201cLikhwenchu Village\u201d under Tseminyu sub-division, Kohima; \u201cMezo Basa village\u201d under SDO (C), Sechu, Kohima; \u201cAshaa village\u201d under Sungro circle, Wokha; \u201cNew Wokha village\u201d under Wokha sadar, Wokha and \u201cPhuyoba village\u201d, Phek immediate effect.  According to an official bulletin, the notifications to this effect were issued by state home commissioner May 26.<br \/>\nNAPO condemns killing<br \/>\nKOHIMA: Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) has condemned the killing of Kevingulie, chairman, Angami Region, NSCN (K) on May 23. In a release NAPO president, Neitso Sogotsu and press secretary, Ruokuovituo Zatsu said NAPO would not remain a silent spectator but take its own course of action in future and appealed to all the Naga national groups to respond to the Naga consultative meet resolution positively. NAPO also said that it stood firm on the Naga consultative meeting with the theme \u201cOne dream, one voice, one future, one goal\u201d held from March 5 to 7, 2009 and stated the resolution No.5 which appealed cessation of killing among Naga national workers with immediate effects.<br \/>\nCYODD support CHDD\u2019s statement<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: In support of the statement issued by Chakesang Hoho Dimapur District (CHDD) regarding the May 19 incident in Jalukie Sangtam village, Chakesang Youth Organization Dimapur District (CYODD) have appealed to the competent authority for early settlement of the issue in the presence of both the parties. In a press note issued by its president Kiesalie Thopi and Gen. Secy. Sekhoi Ringa, the union has also appealed to organizations not to take the issue to the media. Rather, verification and on spot settlement may help bring more understanding and amicable solution. The CYODD has further appealed to any organization not to generalize and make allegations against a tribe because of an individual in the future.<br \/>\nHelp desk for admission in Delhi<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: Zingers Club, Delhi has set up an admission information cell to help students seeking admission in Delhi based colleges for under-graduate level. According to an official bulletin, interested students from Nagaland have been requested to contact Sanen Jamir (9999161334) and Wapang Paul (011-41727995) for further assistance and queries.<br \/>\n2011: Year of population census<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: The state government has declared that census of the population of Nagaland would to be taken during the year 2011. According to an official bulletin, home commissioner, Nagaland state said the reference and date of the census would be counted effecting from 00.00 hours of the first day of March 2011. It also stated that the pre-test of census would be conducted from June 28 to August 17, 2009 in all the eleven districts of the state.<br \/>\nKSU and CCW resolution<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: Kyong Students\u2019 Union (KSU) and Chambers of Commerce Wokha (CCW) in a consultative meeting on May 24 has resolved that any organization or union dealing or transacting money to any business setup in Wokha town would be done through Chambers of Commerce Wokha town. KSU and CCW jointly resolved that selling of calendars, lottery tickets shall be allowed only after verification from both the unions and cautioned that non-local businessmen involving themselves in immoral activities with local people would be severely punished. The unions further resolved to impose fine of Rs. 20,000 to business setup selling Talabs, Tez and Burmese goods. The union has also informed that CCW was ready to sponsor Kyong students\u2019 with weak financial and economic background who passed out with good percentage in HSLC and HSSLC for further studies and informed eligible candidates to contact chairman at 9436817099 and secretary at 9436243028.<br \/>\nFGN leaders arrested in Kiphire<br \/>\nTUENSANG: The 20 Bn 7 Brigade Eastern Command Naga Army, Medan Peyu of Yimchunger region, Akhum and Raja Peyu Throngkhangba were reportedly arrested by the 3rd NAP E Coy Kiphire on Thursday at around 6 pm at Kiphire. According to sources, the duo were arrested while they on their duty at Kiphire. Major Mekhemong 20 Bn Eastern Command Naga Army, has questioned why their authority persons were forcibly arrested during the ceasefire without any rhyme or reason and demanded for immediate release of their leaders. He also said FGN government would \u201cnot be happy if they failed\u201d to release the arrested persons soon.<br \/>\nTrinamool Congress lauded<br \/>\nDimapur: Former Lok Sabha candidate of All India Trinamool Congress, Nagaland, Rilanthung Odyuo congratulated the entire All India Trinamool Congress party for their remarkable victory under the dynamic and influential leadership of Mamta Banerjee. Odyuo also thanked the UPA government for inducting Mamta as the union railway minister in the new cabinet. Meanwhile, Odyuo has expressed gratitude to Trinamool chief, Mamta Banerjee for issuing him the party ticket in the recently Lok Sabha election and to all individuals for their moral support and ardent prayer.<br \/>\nAG residents conduct social work<br \/>\nDIMAPUR: Residents of lower A.G colony, Kohima conducted a mass social work on May 28 to repair the road, which was badly affected with the onset of monsoon season.
