{"id":47721,"date":"2009-05-30T00:08:15","date_gmt":"2009-05-30T00:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2009\/05\/30\/mon-district-hospital-to-be-fully-equipped-by-2010\/"},"modified":"2009-05-30T00:08:15","modified_gmt":"2009-05-30T00:08:15","slug":"mon-district-hospital-to-be-fully-equipped-by-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2009\/05\/30\/mon-district-hospital-to-be-fully-equipped-by-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Mon district hospital to be fully equipped by 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Azo Neinu promised that by the year 2010, the district hospital in Mon would be provided equipments needed and that the department was also working on out post creation to meet the manpower shortage in the hospital.<br \/>\nSpeaking at the inaugural function of district hospital building up-gradation in Mon on Friday, Azo said since the hospital was the only health care institution, excluding private hospital, in Mon district, huge responsibilities rested on the doctors and medical staff posted to carry out their duty. He called upon doctors and medical staff to be judicious in prescribing medicine and to provide free medicines to the poor patients.<br \/>\nAzo also called on the public to report misuse of the medicines by any persons while promising to take stern action against erring persons involved.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Menukhol John felicitated the completion of the building and extended prayer that people of Mon would avoid entering the newly constructed Operation Theatre.<br \/>\nHe said in this age one needed to focus on prevention rather that curing of disease. \u201cInstead of coming to the hospitals, we need to go out to villages and teach our people how to prevent diseases\u201d John said. Also referring to absenteeism culture of medical staff, John informed that department had taken harsh decision keeping in mind the insincerity of some of the staff which he said would be revealed in a few days.<br \/>\nThough he did not elaborate on the decision, the Commissioner and Secretary said the matter could not be taken for granted any more and urged the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, to report any such irregularities to the Department without hesitation.<br \/>\nDeputy Commissioner of Mon, Dinesh Kumar also spoke during the inauguration and highlighted the need for the district hospital to provide at least basic services to the people. He also pointed out to the visiting delegates the need for diagnostic facilities in the district hospital which would go a long way in helping the economically poor people of the district.<br \/>\nThe program was presided over by the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Mon, Dr. M. A Wati and the vote of thanks was proposed by Chief Medical Officer of Mon, Dr. T.
