{"id":477218,"date":"2025-03-25T01:07:15","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T19:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=477218"},"modified":"2025-03-26T11:05:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T05:35:21","slug":"ncd-konyak-csos-appeal-for-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2025\/03\/25\/ncd-konyak-csos-appeal-for-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"NCD, Konyak CSOs appeal for peace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expressing concern over the recent development at GPRN\/NSCN\u2019s Khehoi designated camp, the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and Dimapur-based Konyak civil society organisations (CSOs) have separately appealed to both the parties to maintain peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In a press release, NCD president Etsungmomo Kikon and general secretary LK Peter Anal said the council was \u201cmuch concerned\u201d about the recent development, but the two groups \u201cabsolutely have thoughtfully restrained themselves from resorting to offensive violence on each other\u201d. NCD thanked the groups for upholding the voice of Naga people \u201cno more bloodshed among Naga brothers\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NCD reminded that the \u201ctime has not yet healed the deep scars of horrible blood-bath infightings among own Naga brothers which ended only in recent years.\u201d Since then, NCD said Nagas have been experiencing peace and tranquillity in every nook and corner of Naga inhabited areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Stating that God has answered the prayers of the Naga, the NCD said \u201cwe gave peace a chance for progress and development of our land and people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Further, NCD said that it was the sheer desire and prayer of Nagas that \u201csuch ugly violence does not occur again\u201d. The council stated that it was high time all must work and pray for the unity to resolve early Naga political solution, which, it expressed belief has gained its momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NCD said Naga political issue was \u201cinching fast for its inclusive, honourable and acceptable conclusion\u201d as there appeared mutual understanding among Naga political leaders in the meetings of reconciliation often organized by Forum for Naga Reconciliation and other various like-minded Naga CSOs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>However, NCD said the recent development at Khehoi camp has \u201conce again created fear psychosis and dismay in the minds of people\u201d which particularly affected peaceful living of Nagas in neighbouring districts of Niuland, Ch\u00fcmoukedima and Dimapur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NCD has, therefore, appealed to the leaders of concerned groups \u201cto develop hearts of forgiving each other\u201d and come to an amicable understanding so peaceful environment continued prevailing in the land as before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dimapur-based Konyak CSOs:<\/strong> Dimapur-based Konyak civil society organisations (CSOs)\u2014Konyak Union Dimapur (KUD), Konyak Nyupuh Sekho Khong Dimapur (KNSKD) and Konyak Students\u2019 Union Dimapur (KSUD)\u2014 have appealed to both the parties to uphold peace \u201cas peace is the path for bringing growth and prosperity to society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In a joint statement, M Jeange Yanlem, KNSKD president Henpong and KSUD president Nokwang stated that the recent situation at Khehoi camp had caused mental distress among the Nagas.
