The event will be hosted by Khonoma Students\u2019 Union under the care of Western Angami Students Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was announced by the convention\u2019s organising committee convenor, Neinguvotuo Krose, at a press conference at the ASU office on Monday.<br>A new executive team for the 2025-2027 tenure will be elected during the convention. The event is expected to witness over 2,000 participants, including 500 invitees.<br>Organising committee member, Zekuseto Natso, informed that the special guest for the convention will be minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi. The inaugural session will be graced by advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, while the chief host will be minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse.<br>The literary session will feature Associate Professor Dr. Keduolhoulie Belho as the speaker, while the academic session will be led by Assistant Professor (PG), Sazolie College and guest faculty at ATI, Dr. David Sach\u00fc. Pastor of HS Area CRC, Khriezosietuo Kire, will speak during the devotional service, and the valedictory session will be graced by former ASU president and sitting MLA, Medo Yhokha. Former ASU president and chairman of NHHDC Ltd, Prasielie Pieny\u00fc, will be the special guest for the talent night.<br>Organising committee secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso, highlighted that the convention will be held under the theme \u201cPrege,\u201d which means to be forerunners in every good thing and to lead by example. Vitso expressed hope that the theme would inspire the participants to become pioneers of positive change in society.<br>ASU president, Khriesamhalie David Mere, expressed gratitude to the department of Power for ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, which greatly benefited the student community.<br>Addressing concerns about the duration of the convention, Mere acknowledged suggestions raised in the State Assembly regarding the possibility of shortening the length of such events. He noted that the union has taken the matter into consideration and is open to implementing changes after further discussions. Adding to this, Vitso stated that previous conventions have proven beneficial for the student community, and any adjustments will be made with careful deliberation.<br>In line with environmental concerns, the organising committee has decided to minimize the use of single-use plastics during the convention and adopt eco-friendly practices.<br>To accommodate the large number of participants, the union plans to utilize various schools, community buildings, and public facilities in and around Khonoma village.<br>With a well-curated lineup of guests, an inspiring theme, and a commitment to sustainability, the ASU\u2019s 31st convention promises to be an enriching experience for the student community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angami Students\u2019 Union is set to host its 31st convention from April 4 to 6, 2025, at Khonoma village.
