NSCN-K (Niki) has rejected the clarification issued by Dimapur Police regarding the recent abduction case, terming it as \u201cfabricated and false clarification\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a rejoinder issued by its MIP, NSCN-K (Niki) alleged that on March 22, 2025, its members received information from an \u201cinformer\u201d– the driver of vehicle AS-01PC-6016– about a consignment of contraband sunflower being transported from Manipur to Assam. Acting on the informer\u2019s instructions, NSCN members intercepted the vehicle near Raju Dhaba, Pherima, and seized the contraband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to NSCN, while conducting an enquiry about the kingpin in Manipur, the police arrested four NSCN members along with the informer (driver) and the passenger (drug smuggler)\u2014Imran Hussain and Jahirul Islam\u2014on March 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group further claimed that the four NSCN members while in Diphupar Police Station custody, police enquired the whereabouts of the contraband sunflower and assured the release of the NSCN members once it was handed over to police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP said that one of the NSCN members in police custody had contacted his colleagues to handover the contraband to the police for their release. Acting on this assurance from Police, MIP said that the NSCN members had requested Iuto (PA to advisor government of Nagaland) to facilitate the handover of 25 soap cases of contraband sunflower to the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In pursuance to the request, MIP claimed that Iuto had allegedly contacted ACP (East) Dimapur and informed him about the incident\/case whereby the ACP had purportedly asked one of his junior police officer to collect the contraband from Nagarjan, Dimapur, on March 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP claimed that the junior officer allegedly received the contraband from Iuto on behalf of the ACP. However, despite full cooperation from NSCN, MIP alleged that the four arrested members were not released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even as this statement was being prepare, it alleged that Iuto was being threatened by the police officer in question to disown the facts related to this incident\/case. Therefore, MIP said that the NSCN was waiting in anticipation from Dimapur police for another \u201cfalsified awareness statement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (Niki) has asked the police to produce genuine evidence if any, instead of relying on the \u201cfabricated\u201d one in the public domain. MIP said that the \u201cfalsified and fabricated clarification of the police\u201d has only displayed their incompetence, asserting that the NSCN\/GPRN was ever willing to initiate action against their erring cadres provided genuine evidence is produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP alleged that Dimapur police\u2019s \u201cforced confessions\/statements from NSCN members\u201d as evidence for the photos published by NSCN was laughable. MIP said that being educated in Indian law, they should know that any statement or confession extracted through physical and mental torture while in custody was not admissible in their courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accusing the police of resorting to character assassination in the \u201cfabricated clarification containing lies and deceit\u201d was outrageous and deserve to be condemned, adding that people were not foolish to believe their lies and deceits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It said that the \u201cpublic awareness note\u201d issued by police should include facts and not some made up story. MIP alleged that this case\/incident was a classic example and tip of the iceberg of about \u201ccover-ups and corruption existing in the Dimapur Police establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (Niki) has asked the police to direct their investigation towards their own rather than issuing \u201cfabricated statements\u201d against NSNC\/GPRN. MIP said that NSCN was open to a joint fact-finding investigation under the chairman of the Cease-Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
