Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has slammed the decision of the International University, Dimapur (formerly, The Global Open University Nagaland), to name their recently inaugurated central library after Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NPCC through its communications department said the decision was \u201cprofoundly troubling\u201d and deserved condemnation from all sections of the society who believed in the secular and inclusive ethos of the Constitution of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congress party said establishment of the library in itself was laudable, but to do so in honour of the founder ideologue of RSS, \u201can organisation rooted in the idea of converting India into an RSS ideology conforming Hindutva state speaks to the intolerance and bigotry of the university.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NPCC reminded that Nagaland was home to a sizable population of one of the nation\u2019s minority communities that have historically been at the receiving end of \u201cRSS engineered majoritarian discriminatory agendas\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, NPCC said the International University scripting \u201cthis disturbing act in Nagaland\u201d was all the more abhorrent, adding it was nothing short of putting salt to injury on the people of Nagaland and the minority communities living all over India as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NPCC said the party \u201cstrongly denounces this divisive act\u201d of the International University and would \u201coppose their efforts to poison our children\u2019s minds, unapologetically and unwaveringly.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
