Thomas said, \u201cThe Word of God should be allowed to penetrate the lives of everyone. And for this, reading of word of God is a must.\u201d The Bible reading relay would go a long way to motivate everyone to read the Bible everyday, he added.<br \/>\nThe Bishop of Kohima, Right Reverend Jose Mukala who is now on mission tour abroad, while wishing the organizers of the Programme said, \u201cThe Bible Reading Relay, creative as it is, will enable to know the need to read the entire Bible.\u201d<br \/>\nAccording to a press release received through mail by Fr. R.R. Graviour Augustine, the event is the replica of the Bible Marathon that was held at Vatican, Rome, during the Synod (meeting of representatives of Catholic religious heads) on the Word of God held in October 2008 in which the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, numerous Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Bible Scholars, Lay Leaders and Observers from other Ecclesial Communities participated.<br \/>\nNotable among the participants was some one from Northeast India, Archbishop of Guwahati, Thomas Menamparampil sdb.<br \/>\nThe Bible Relay that began Sunday at Emmaus House, Zubza would be continued by eight other Catholic Institutions of various religious congregations and people of different communities and places.<br \/>\nThe other institutions that would take part in the Bible Relay include Assisi Convent, Khermahal; Adoration Convent, Signal Basti; St. Clare Convent, Kacharigaon; Auxilium Convent, Dimapur; Carmel Convent, Fourth Mile; Holy Redeemer Health Centre, Chumukedima; and Holy Cross Church, Dimapur.<br \/>\nThe event is organized by Faith Formation wing of the Diocese of Kohima, Pastoral Centre, to remind each believer of Christ on the importance of reading the word of God to know the power of God\u2019s word in and for everyone\u2019s life.<br \/>\nThe relay will begin everyday for nine consecutive days at six in the morning and till six in the evening.<br \/>\nThe press release also stated each institution that participate in the event would read roughly about 150 chapters from the Bible before passing the \u2018Baton Bible\u2019 to the next institution which would begin from where the previous one stopped.<br \/>\nThe event would culminate June 29 at Holy Cross Church with the conclusion of the year of St. Paul.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Bible Reading Relay programme was inaugurated by former Salesian Provincial of Dimapur Province and the present Rector of Don Bosco Novitiate, Zubza, Reverend Father Mulayinkal Thomas sdb at Emmaus House, Zubza, on behalf Catholic Church, Nagaland, Sunday.
