{"id":481485,"date":"2025-04-14T01:57:26","date_gmt":"2025-04-13T20:27:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=481485"},"modified":"2025-04-14T15:13:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T09:43:26","slug":"wssu-issues-advisory-on-issuance-of-st-and-indigenous-inhabitant-certificates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2025\/04\/14\/wssu-issues-advisory-on-issuance-of-st-and-indigenous-inhabitant-certificates\/","title":{"rendered":"WSSU issues advisory on issuance of ST and Indigenous Inhabitant certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Western S\u00fcmi Students\u2019 Union (WSSU) has asserted that individuals whose parental lineage was not of S\u00fcmi origin by blood should not be issued Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Indigenous Inhabitant Certificates (IIC), nor granted No Objection Certificates (NoC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Issuing a strong advisory to all administrative authorities over the issuance of ST and IICs, WSSU president Ikato Khulu and general secretary Vitoka N Rochill also cautioned Gaon Buras (GBs) and village councils to refrain from issuing NoCs based merely on village affiliation or personal familiarity. They stressed strict verification and due diligence in such sensitive matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Further, WSSU urged administrative authorities and dobashis to thoroughly scrutinise all documents before processing applications.
