{"id":482859,"date":"2025-04-21T02:00:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-20T20:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=482859"},"modified":"2025-04-21T13:55:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T08:25:04","slug":"nida-tnai-flay-physical-assault-on-nurse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2025\/04\/21\/nida-tnai-flay-physical-assault-on-nurse\/","title":{"rendered":"NIDA, TNAI flay physical assault on nurse"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nagaland In-Service Doctors\u2019 Association (<strong>NIDA<\/strong>) and Trained Nurses\u2019 Association of India (TNAI) Nagaland branch have strongly condemned the \u201cbrutal assault\u201d on a staff nurse, who was on a duty at Tseminyu CHC on April 18, 2025 by one person from Tseminyu village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In a press release, NIDA media cell, expressed concern on the rising incidence of violence against health care workers, and said the assault on a health care worker on duty was a punishable offence in The Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Act 2020 depending on the gravity of the crime. NIDA said preventing government employee from executing their duty was also an offence under Section 186 and Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NIDA therefore, appealed to the competent authority to ensure that the crime was not condoned but the culprit be awarded exemplary punishment as per the provision of law.<br>The association also extended support to the nursing fraternity and speedy recovery of the nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>TNAI<\/strong>: Trained Nurses\u2019 Association of India (TNAI) Nagaland branch, in a condemnation note, said such acts of violence against healthcare workers were absolutely unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In a statement, TNAI president, Tiakala Longkumer and joint secretary, Khumjanbeni Murry said any unprovoked assault on a government servant on duty was a serious criminal offence, and urged the authorities to take swift and stringent action against the perpetrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>They demanded that justice be delivered to the victim, to send a clear message that violence against healthcare workers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.<br>TNAI also demanded that the assaulted nurse be transferred to a facility of her choice, as she no longer feels safe at her current place of duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Highlighting the urgent need for a safe and secure working environment for female healthcare workers, the association appealed to the responsible authorities to implement concrete measures, to ensure the safety and dignity of all healthcare personnel, particularly women were protected.
