On this auspicious occasion of world veterinary day 2025, a day when we not only celebrate the noble profession of veterinary medicine but also reflect on the values dial unite us in our mission, compassion, collaboration and commitment to the Health and welfare of animals
President and colleagues of the Nagaland Veterinarians Association wish all the veterinarians around the world a very happy world veterinary day. It is imperative to reflect on the theme of this year.
\u201cAnimal Health takes a team\u201d, This year\u2019s theme, could not be more timely or relevant In Our ever-changing world- where animal, human and environment health are so deeply intertwined- it has become clear that no single individual or profession can go it alone. The health of animals is not just the responsibility of veterinarians. It is a collective effort that involves veterinary nurses, technicians,
animal handlers, farmers, researchers, public health officials, environmentalist and policy makers. Together, we form a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to one health.
As veterinarians, we are often at the forefront – diagnosing diseases, performing surgeries, preventing outbreaks. But behind every success story is a team that works tirelessly in the background. A team that ensures animals are fed, protected, understood and respected. And today, we celebrate that team.
We must continue to foster collaboration across sectors, across disciplines and across borders. Whether it is tackling zoonotic diseases, combating anti-microbial resistance, responding to natural disasters, or ensuring food safety and animal welfare, it is a team work that enables us to rise these global challenges
Let us also take a moment to recognize the sacrifices and dedication or our veterinary teams during crisis – be it a disease outbreak, a natural calamity or the daily often unseen challenges of practice in remote and rural areas, your resilience, empathy and team work inspire us all.
On this special day, I call upon all of us to renew our commitment to working together.
Let us continue to build bridges between professions, support each other and invest in education and innovation that strengthens our teams,
Because when we work as team, the impact we make is powerful- not just for animals but for people, communities and our shared planet.
