{"id":484445,"date":"2025-04-28T01:26:54","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T19:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=484445"},"modified":"2025-04-28T01:26:55","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T19:56:55","slug":"indias-growth-story-is-safe-secure-and-stable-goyal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2025\/04\/28\/indias-growth-story-is-safe-secure-and-stable-goyal\/","title":{"rendered":"India\u2019s growth story is safe, secure and stable: Goyal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, on Sunday, highlighted India\u2019s strong foreign exchange reserves and its position as the world\u2019s fastest-growing major economy, attracting both global and domestic capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>\u201cIndia\u2019s growth story is safe, secure, and stable,\u201d the Minister said in his address at an event organised by leading mutual fund managers and financial advisors in the national capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>\u201cToday, through initiatives such as \u2018Make in India\u2019, our country has become more integrated into global supply chains on the back of our competitive strengths and growing manufacturing capabilities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Goyal\u2019s statement on the strong economic fundamentals of the economy comes in the backdrop of India\u2019s forex reserves surging for the seventh straight week to a six-month high of $686.15 billion as on April 18, according to the latest Reserve Bank of India data.<br>The reserves rose by $8.3 billion for the week ended April 18, after having shot up by as much as $39.2 billion in the preceding six weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>A strengthening of the country\u2019s foreign exchange reserves also helps bolster the rupee vis-a-vis the US Dollar, which is good for the economy. With the recent increase in foreign exchange reserves the rupee has also emerged stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>An increase in the foreign exchange reserves gives the RBI more headroom to stabilise the rupee when it turns volatile. The RBI can intervene in the spot and forward currency markets by releasing more dollars to prevent the rupee from going into a free fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Conversely, a declining forex reserve leaves the RBI less space to intervene in the market to prop up the rupee.
