Chakhesang Students\u2019 Union (CSU) claimed seizing 12 vehicles– 11 belonging to National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) and one state government– for disregarding its prohibition of movement of government and NHIDCL vehicles due to inordinate delay in the construction of NH-29 (Kohima to Jessami) \u2013 Package 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With its second phase of agitation over the issue entering the second day, the CSU in a communiqu\u00e9 threatened that any further unauthorised vehicular movement would be met with intensified action, declaring that the agitation would continue with full force until its demands were met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reiterating its demands, the union warned that the implementing agency would be held responsible for any untoward incident or consequences arising along the NH-29 Road Package-2 stretch from Chakhabama to Kikr\u00fcma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union had on May 11 announced imposition of restrictions effective from May 12 on movement of vehicles belonging to NHIDCL, EPC contractor M\/s Ratna Infra Projects Pvt Ltd, and government-registered vehicles, except those exempted under its May 12 notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union claimed that there had been repeated violations of the ban, with vehicles under the prohibited category continuing to ply on the route. The CSU also expressed dismay at the continued apathy and silence of NHIDCL and M\/s Ratna Infra, even though the matter had remained unresolved for over six months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
