Dimapur District concluded its Block Health Melas on May 14 at PHC Akito, Niuland Block. A similar mela was held earlier on May 13 at CHC Dhansiripar under Dhansiripar Block. The mela were conducted by the District Health Society Dimapur, in commemoration of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press release by Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, IEC Bureau Section noted that the health melas aimed to make healthcare more accessible by bringing services closer to communities, offering screening, diagnosis, treatment, and free medicines, besides disseminating awareness on various health topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team of doctors led by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. T. Temsu Lkr, included, Gynaecologist, Dental Surgeon, General Medical Officers, AYUSH MOsvarious Health Programme Officers viz RCH\/UIP, Tuberculosis, Vector Borne diseases, Leprosy, Oral Health, DAPCU, NCD, along with technicians to provide services such as ophthalmology, audiometric, screening for TB, Leprosy, vector borne diseases, non-communicable diseases, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 267 outpatient cases were registered during the melas. The health melas saw a significant number of patients availing various services, including 262 screenings for NCDs, 24 gynaecology cases, and 205 general medicine consultations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, 53 patients were screened for cataracts, 189 availed oral health services, and 64 were screened for TB.
