The man allegedly tried to entice them with money and asked them to enter his vehicle. Alarmed, the girls fled the scene. Later that day, a Class 5 boy from the same school had a similar encounter while returning home after his examination. The same red car and individual reportedly approached him in a similar manner.
The incidents initially went unreported, as the students did not inform school authorities immediately. The matter came to light only on May 19, when the guardians, along with the local Gaon Bura, visited the school and reported the incidents.
In response, the teacher-in-charge took down detailed statements from the students and guardians. An emergency awareness session on personal safety and the dangers of speaking to strangers was immediately conducted for all students. The school also disseminated the warning through WhatsApp groups to alert the broader community.
It was noted that the school regularly holds safety awareness programmes, and a session on similar issues had been held even before the incident. As of the time of reporting, no First Information Report (FIR) has been filed.
In light of the incident, the teacher-in-charge issued the following safety guidelines: Students must not be allowed to loiter during school hours; Parents\/guardians should contact the school immediately if their child does not reach home on time; Class teachers must notify parents if a student is absent; for lower classes, students should not be allowed to leave school premises unless accompanied by a parent or guardian; all classrooms should be thoroughly checked after school hours etc.
The school has urged the public to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity near schools to the nearest authority to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
A disturbing incident involving an alleged attempt to lure school children by an unknown man has been reported near Toulazouma Government Primary School (GPS).According to Thungchamo Lotha, teacher-in-charge of the school, the incident occurred on May 16 between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Two school-going girls were approached by a non-local man in a red […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-488308","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/488308","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=488308"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/488308\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=488308"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=488308"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=488308"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
