Much anticipated Extended Play (EP) \u201cDo you dare\u201d of Alobo Naga & the Band, (ANTB) was officially launched here Tuesday, at Nagaland coffee house, circular road, Dimapur.
Launching the EP, Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) chairman Theja Meru Theja Meru as distinguished guest congratulated the band for their relentless pursuit of musical excellence, applauding their courage, persistence, and ability to evolve in a challenging industry. \u201cThis band continues to dream, write, and push boundaries,\u201d he said, adding that their music, now streaming globally on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, will continue to inspire generations.
Terming ANTB \u201cthe biggest band from Nagaland,\u201d Meru emphasized the importance of celebrating their talent and expressed full support from TaFMA as the band sets its sights on Southeast Asia.
Frontman Alobo Naga, the soul behind ANTB\u2019s vocals and songwriting, described EP \u201cDo You Dare\u201d as more than just a record\u2014\u201cIt\u2019s a journey,\u201d he said. The EP, featuring both fresh tracks and tunes born during the band\u2019s earlier days, marks a pivotal moment for the group. He noted each track on the EP had a unique story, a reflection of their experiences, struggles, and aspirations. \u201cEP was special because of the collaborative spirit behind it, we\u2019ve had the privilege of working with some incredibly talented artists who have helped shape the sound and soul of this project\u201d he added.
Following a successful pre-launch tour across the Northeast\u2014including stops in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam\u2014the band is ready to take the new EP national with a multi-city tour titled \u201cRide to the Rhythm.\u201d The tour, curated by Candies Studio, powered by Royal Enfield, and supported by TaFMA and Hard Rock Caf\u00e9, will kick off in Pune and Kolkata, with more cities to be revealed.
\u201cOur goal is to build cultural bridges through music and take Nagaland\u2019s sound to a national and international audience,\u201d Alobo said, hinting at upcoming Southeast Asia tours.
He expressed gratitude to TaFMA for supporting the tour and promoting Nagaland\u2019s music scene. He thanked TaFMA, Chairman Theja Meru for his constant support and vision that empowered many artists, including them to dream bigger.
The EP, now available on all major streaming platforms, features five tracks:
