\nSelected bands would be judged based on their onstage performances and public voting, followed by declaration of the winner at the grand finale.
\nThough the show started behind schedule, the band \u2018Black Creeper\u2019 took to the stage much to the delight of the few invited frenzy \u2018Rock Music\u2019 enthusiasts.
\nProfessionals and upcoming musicians from Dimapur, Kohima, Phek and Wokha districts, who lined up for the preliminary contest were allotted few minutes time for adjusting their music gears while another time frame was devoted for their songs.
\nJudges for the screening included Achaba Sangtam, XTC band member and the winner of best guitarist contest 2008; Lezo Suokhrie, Eximious band, best bassist music contest in Mizoram 2006, best vocal in National Hornbill Rock Contest, 2008.
\nPublic voting cards would be made available in Unitex Inc, Encore, Music ground, Audio, Garage, from May 2 and a telecast of the screening would be shown in all local cables from first week of May.
\nMeanwhile, speaking as chief guest at the screening of the bands, Akaho Kiho, convener, Naga People\u2019s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) lauded the organizers for committing their endeavours in uplifting local musicians thereby opening a platform for the musicians in the international and national arena. He said most people hardly stick to their commitment and eventually leads to downfall of promising musicians of the state. Encouraging the participants to scale higher, the chief guest asked them to inculcate enthusiasm in music within them through hard labour in addition to spreading \u2018love and peace\u2019 through music.
\nAfter strenuous task of compiling the scores, twelve bands comprising Verge, X-6, Six was Nine, Section 4, 4th Origin, Rusty Dust, Dementia, Anti-Trust, Black Fall Anthem, Havoc, Damn Silent and Azure Delusion were selected for the grand finale.
