Staff Reporter\nDrum rooooooolll\u2026. You may term it biased or something but the hullabaloo that crowd bellowed at the Rock United Festival-II Saturday night at DDSC Stadium Dimapur was brilliant and captivating.
\nAfter an abnormally long music deprived period, it was lucky enough to be a part of Rock United Festival-II that occurred in Dimapur, making it pop up distinctively from the rest Gigs (Local of course) I attended so far. The festival was simply breathtaking, scaring the hell out of my butt head!! Truly it was a battle against anti-social elements social evils.
\nThe festival, though started to take its shape an hour behind the schedule, the opening acts by Lost Park and Melodrama gave a sigh if relief to starving heavy metal activists to bang their heads in chorus.
\nThe first to exploit the stage was Lost Park with their mesmerizing originals, swiping the psyche of metal fanatics. Their original \u2018Inside me\u2019 was a sure shot on those who were ready to bear anything that was metal, metal and metal. The magnitude of drum meats and roar of the vocalist surely blew some diehards off the barricade.
\nNext to take the centre stage was Eximous. Started with one of their originals, the outfit gradually conquered the stadium with their high voltage sound of the soul. Their number \u2013 \u2018Hey Now\u2019 \u2013 if listened carefully would have made you shoot your enemy at close rage. However, that was not the case with the crowd, because random head banging was quite visible from the gallery. Numbers like \u2018come to me\u2019 and \u2018I don\u2019t care\u2019 left the junta jump with joy (or I don\u2019t know).
\nNext up, Melodrama, after having a slight screw ups with the sound system and some efforts to the effects they promptly shook up and went on to play their famous original \u2018Fear of the light\u2019, drawing the crowd into the dark (quite opposite, isn\u2019t it?). This song, if you are a music freak, would surely have given you a goosebumps. The Double Decker Piano and their female vocals certainly created an extra commotion to the already buzzing atmosphere.
\nDevine connection, with their Christian foundation was worth lending the ear. The most appealing presentation was a cover \u2018Jykle and Hyde\u2019, which made the roaring inflate, even as the spiraling of cigarette smoke was visibly in the air. Their original \u2018Original confession\u2019 was a sure hit on the arm. They left the stage with \u2018fallen\u2019 one of their original.
\nThe gig was completely on boil as Project Blend \u2013 a five member band from Shillong \u2013gapped the stage. Their originals \u2018The pain inside\u2019 and \u2018Hoi, Hoi, Hoi, Hoi\u2019 stood out from the rest.
\nSubsequently \u2018Boomerang\u2019 \u2013 a kick ass band from Aizawl \u2013 left the crowd ask for more. Their originals including \u2018 Roar\u2019, Kingdom of pain\u2019, \u2018Who do you wanna be\u2019 and \u2018Hush\u2019 reigned the show of the night.
\nFinally, Native Rising (NR) culminated the festival in their own simple, yet appealing manner. Sadly, for the wannabe rockers the gig culminated too soon. Literally, Rock united-II festival was a war zone for 7 bands taking one stage. The festival was over all one of its kind to strike the town ever.
\nThe event promoters and producers- sponsores did a great job by keeping a track of things and making sure things went as planned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
