Joel says she first heard the news from her dad.<br \/>\n\u201cHe was the first person to talk to me,\u201d says Alexa. \u201cOf course, being who he is, you can\u2019t just trust everybody. I like knowing that my father can come to me.\u201d<br \/>\nDespite her parents\u2019 troubled marriage record, Alexa says has hardly sworn off the idea of one day getting hitched herself \u2013 although she dispels rumors of a romance with John Mayer. \u201cI would love to get married. Having seen what I\u2019ve seen, sure I have a different perspective on marriage, but I\u2019m a true romantic, and I will be having a wedding at one point.\u201d<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Joel says she stands behind her dad: \u201cHe\u2019s a strong man.
