\nExpressing outrage over the \u201cabduction and physical assault,\u201d SAKD president Vikugha Kappo and general secretary Shikato Shohe in a press release identified the three abductees as X Lukiye Swu, a teachers as well as executive member of SAKD; K Zhetovi Assumi, a businessman and office bearer of GKD, and Vikheto Assumi, a class XII student of Zakiesetuo Memorial HSS.
\n \u201cThe trio had gone to pay auto tax to the proper authorities of the GPRN, feeling reluctant to do the transaction through a middleman. After failure to meet the authorities, they were on their way back when they were forcefully abducted, physically assaulted causing serious injury in one case and released,\u201d SAKD said. The union also said it had come to light that the abduction and assault were \u201cperpetrated\u201d on the grounds of suspicion that they were members of rival factions.
\nUrging the NSCN (I-M) not to repeat similar mistakes in future, SAKD also said the purpose of the clarification was not to create further ill-will between the involved parties but to place on record that the three abductees were bonafide members of SAKD.
\nIn a separate press release, GKD chairman P Vihoto Shohe and joint secretary Ghosivi Wotsa also testified that the three were not members of any political organization or engage in anti-social activities.
