{"id":5187,"date":"2008-11-08T00:22:53","date_gmt":"2008-11-08T00:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/11\/08\/myanmar-envoy-to-grace-hornbill-fest\/"},"modified":"2008-11-08T00:22:53","modified_gmt":"2008-11-08T00:22:53","slug":"myanmar-envoy-to-grace-hornbill-fest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/11\/08\/myanmar-envoy-to-grace-hornbill-fest\/","title":{"rendered":"Myanmar envoy to grace Hornbill fest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>State chief minister Neiphiu Rio has invited Myanmar\u2019s ambassador to India to be the State\u2019s guest during the forthcoming Hornbill festival.<br \/>\nDeputy chairman, State Planning Board (SPB) and chairman of Monitoring Cell, Neiba Kronu, MLA, in a press statement said on arrival of the ambassador, he and the state chief minister were likely to visit the border trade centers.<br \/>\nKronu said in order to improve the economic condition of people living along the border, the trade centers at Mollen &#8211; Avangkhu in Phek district, Longwa in Mon district and Pangsha in Tuensang district, required immediate attention.<br \/>\n \u201cFor this we also require the cooperation and support of the Myanmar government,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nThe deputy chairman SPB also informed that the DAN government was doing its best to improve the economic condition of the State through various ways and means such as Externally Aided Project (EAP) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), in addition to Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).<br \/>\n \u201cThe state government shall try to explore these types of opportunities and invite entrepreneurs to invest in the state,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nKronu disclosed that the State cabinet had already approved the appointment of a chief engineer to look after the National Highways.<br \/>\nStressing on the need to improve the power sector, he however added that the revenue collection in power sector had increased tremendously.<br \/>\nHe said the government had identified some power projects, which might be taken up in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with investments from government and private sectors.<br \/>\nOn the newly created Monitoring Cell, Kronu said the cell would monitor all the CSS programmes, which are directly routed to the district without passing through the Planning department.<br \/>\n\u201cThe cell shall gave the authority to collect information and data from the implementing departments \/agencies\/officials correspond and hold discussion to guide the concerned authored implementing the CSS programmes,\u201d he informed.<br \/>\nWith regard to Agri and allied sectors, the deputy chairman SPB said the State government was trying to engage various buyers for marketing of organic products.  \u201cTowards this end the government is doing its best to improve the production of medicinal and aromatic plants and other organic agricultural and horticultural products as Nagaland has already been declared as \u201corganic state\u201d and Organic policy has already been framed,\u201d Kronu said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State chief minister Neiphiu Rio has invited Myanmar\u2019s ambassador to India to be the State\u2019s guest during the forthcoming Hornbill festival.
