He said that they needed to do away with the mindset of \u2018backwardness\u2019 and move ahead with the advanced world by concentrating in the field of education, health, development and cleanliness.<br \/>\nAddressing the 7th session of Eastern Nagaland Peoples\u2019 Union (ENPU) Kohima at DUDA guest house, Nyeiwang Konyak said that quality education was an important element for development. He urged the eastern Nagas to venture out and compete with other advanced tribes.<br \/>\nTo acquire quality education, he also said that peace should prevail in the state. \u201cUnless we are one, unless peace prevails, this hostility will continue\u201d, he said. He further acknowledged the cabinet\u2019s decision in relaxing the teachers\u2019 recruitment policy.<br \/>\nExhorting the gathering, Dako Phom, parliamentary secretary, Transport and Mechanical, called upon the people to give their efforts in removing backwardness. \u201cHow long will we remain under the flag of backwardness?\u201d he questioned. To bring such change, he stated that the people should first change their habits, work culture, traditional ways of living. He expressed his hope that the eastern Nagas would not be tagged as backward but be marked under a prosperous slogan.<br \/>\nParliamentary secretary, CAWD, T. Torechu appealed to the gathering to work together with a feeling of oneness. He urged them to advice and help one another for welfare of the whole society.
