{"id":5214,"date":"2008-11-14T00:10:22","date_gmt":"2008-11-14T00:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/11\/14\/3rd-reconciliation-soccer-match-ends-in-tie\/"},"modified":"2008-11-14T00:10:22","modified_gmt":"2008-11-14T00:10:22","slug":"3rd-reconciliation-soccer-match-ends-in-tie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/11\/14\/3rd-reconciliation-soccer-match-ends-in-tie\/","title":{"rendered":"3rd Reconciliation soccer match ends in tie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PGSCRHWLBAVDKVNEUAWC.jpg>As part of the ongoing initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) to reconcile various warring Naga underground factions under the banner \u2018A journey of common hope\u2019, members of Naga \u2018Civil Society\u2019 and \u2018United National\u2019 comprising of Naga underground factions clashed for the third time in the soccer pitch.<br \/>\nThe \u2018National workers\u2019 who were beaten in the previous \u2018Reconciliation\u2019 soccer matches played at Chiang Mai in Thailand (Aug 20) and Kohima (Oct 9) on Thursday put up a spirited fight at DDSC Stadium before a 6000- odd crowd to level the match 3-3.<br \/>\nThe goals for United came through the boots of Sangti Konyak and Hopeson, the latter of who scored twice in second half. For the Civil Society, the scorers were Fr. George, Dr. Wati Aier and Vashum. The match was kicked off by\u2018Gen\u2019 (Rtd) Thenoselie Keyho .<br \/>\nAfter the match, senior NSCN\/GPRN leader Singson,also a one time state player and  who played a key role in securing a draw for United said the  event was a \u201csign of oneness among Nagas. Nagas were one and will always be one.\u201d He also said the spirit of oneness and camaraderie should go beyond the soccer field.<br \/>\nEarlier, FNR convenor Dr. Wati Aier in a brief introduction described the occasion as \u201cthe moment in our history in which a new order is being born. Today, we are here to witness the death of \u2018old age\u2019 of the Nagas and the emergence of the new.\u201d<br \/>\nDr. Wati lauded leaders of various factions for their commitment and taking the \u2018risk\u2019 to bring the new. Urging the people to guard their rights jealously, he said Nagas must discard the false doctrine of \u2018exclusivism\u201d and embrace the new order \u201ctogetherness.\u201d<br \/>\nThe FNR convenor also said the challenge before Nagas in the new order was \u201cgood will.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThe virtues of truth, mercy, justice and peace must stand tall at the centre of our lives. Only then, will \u2018emerge a child called reconciliation,\u2019\u201d he added. He further assured that the FNR would never betray the people from its commitment to Naga reconciliation.<br \/>\nSidelights of the soccer match included \u2018Naga national melodies\u2019 presented by Oriental Theological Seminary students, songs by United National choir and orphans of Naga violence. Rev. L Bizo offered invocation prayer while Rev. Loli Kape pronounced the benediction.<br \/>\nEarlier, widows of Naga national workers also presented flowers to \u2018United National\u2019 players before the kick off. The programme winded up with a mass prayer led by Rev. Dr. V.K.
