{"id":5258,"date":"2008-11-18T00:18:06","date_gmt":"2008-11-18T00:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/11\/18\/govts-peace-slogan-hollow-cong\/"},"modified":"2008-11-18T00:18:06","modified_gmt":"2008-11-18T00:18:06","slug":"govts-peace-slogan-hollow-cong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/11\/18\/govts-peace-slogan-hollow-cong\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt\u2019s peace slogan \u2018hollow\u2019: Cong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Contrary to the claims of the DAN Government on the law and order front in the State, the State Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has alleged that the prevailing law and order situation had exposed the government\u2019s failure to fulfill its promises to instill a sense of security among the public, especially businessmen.<br \/>\n\u201cThere has been excessive kidnappings and extortions by anti-social elements creating a fear psychosis among the public. The slogan of ushering peace by this present Government has been found hollow and self congratulatory, whereas in reality the situation has gone from bad to worse,\u201d said parliamentary secretary, CLP, C Apok Jamir, MLA, in a press release.<br \/>\nThe CLP at a meeting held Monday here in Dimapur, which was chaired by leader of opposition Chingwang Konyak, also declared that the promises made by DAN Government on development and prosperity had become only a slogan to fool the general public, as reality was \u201cseen and felt by the public in our daily life.\u201d<br \/>\nCLP members thanked the NPCC for its \u201cpro-active\u201d role in countering the \u201cmis-governance\u201d of the DAN Government and highlighting the \u201cdeteriorating state of affairs\u201d and various other issues including the \u201cfalse and prejudicial stands\u201d of blaming the Congress party for imposition of President\u2019s Rule in Nagaland before the assembly election.<br \/>\nAlleging that the State Assembly Speaker had, without applying his mind and understanding of the Law, disallowed the dissident and Independent MLAs from voting in the no-trust motion against the DAN government, the CLP said the \u201cill-intended\u201d role played by the Speaker was exposed when the Gauhati High Court overruled the Speaker\u2019s action as \u201cillegal and unfortunate.\u201d The Congress party reiterated its stand that the Speaker and chief minister should step down on moral ground for \u201cmisleading the people.\u201d<br \/>\nAsserting that the CLP was united and strong and would continue to work selflessly for the welfare of the people of Nagaland, CLP said \u201crumours\u201d such as dissidence and disunity among its members were nothing but \u201ccheap tricks\u201d of the DAN Government to create confusion in the minds of the people. \u201cThe CLP would act as a vigilant for the people against the disease of corruption and nepotism spread by the present DAN government, which has become the hallmark of this DAN government,\u201d CLP said.<br \/>\nFurther, the CLP expressed gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi for appointing Oscar Fernandez as the party\u2019s incharge of North-East and hoped that the Congress party in the State would be strengthened under his leadership.<br \/>\nThe State Congress also thanked the outgoing AICC general secretary Margaret Alva for her contribution to the Congress party during her tenure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to the claims of the DAN Government on the law and order front in the State, the State Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has alleged that the prevailing law and order situation had exposed the government\u2019s failure to fulfill its promises to instill a sense of security among the public, especially businessmen. \u201cThere has been [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5258","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5258","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=5258"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5258\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5258"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=5258"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=5258"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
