In his inaugural speech, Chase encouraged the volunteers to have an apprehension for the well being of the community, mainly of the weaker section.<br \/>\nHe also exhorted the volunteers stating that people desired to begin with altering their individual selves in order to bring about changes in the society and give their best in the way to serve the people for a better life.<br \/>\nBendangnungsang, programme officer, NSS, along with 55 volunteers attended the camp with a purpose to create a healthy environment surrounded by youthful vigor and strength.<br \/>\nThe first three days of the camp was devoted to seminar presentation, group discussion and question hour amongst the volunteers and participants. Speakers for the seminar were L. Kenneth Punyu, state liaison officer, NSS, directorate of youth resource and sports on \u201cObjectives and Importance of NSS\u201d, Dr. Temsu, medical officer, in-charge of Blood Bank on \u201cDrug Abuse\u201d, Kahoshe Sumi, department of zoology, Patkai Christian College on \u201cClimatic Change\u201d and Kilangbenla, department of mathematics, Patkai Christian College on \u201cStress Management\u201d.<br \/>\nOne-day sightseeing programme was organized where campers were taken in and around Dimapur under the guidance of programme officer. The campers also visited the orphanage (Mothers\u2019 Hope) at 7th mile to know about the unwanted children of the land who need love, affection, guidance, beside basic amenities in life and donated a sum of Rs. 7405 to the orphanage.<br \/>\nThe activity of the special camp included cleanliness drive in the college campus and the adopted village of Patkai NSS, making of bamboo benches and bomboo dustbin.<br \/>\nA leader\u2019s time was organized on the last day where the outgoing NSS leaders took the session and encouraged volunteers to occupy themselves in innovative and constructive social work.
