Nagaland is known to be one of the biggest markets for the company in the region with about 3000 beauty consultants meeting the needs of the consumers. <\/p>\n
Mary Kay Inc. is also known as a \u2018Gift Company\u2019 for the generous amount of perks it gives away to the employees, starting from cosmetics to cars. It may be mentioned that four Mary Kay\u2019s employees of Nagaland have already received a Toyota Etios each. <\/p>\n
Interestingly, Mary Kay Inc. not only focused on expanding its presence in the market but it was trying its best to do something for the society by giving the \u201cMary Kay opportunity\u201d. <\/p>\n
Exploring more on the concept of the company, Mary Kay\u2019s Country Manager of India, Hina Nagaraja, said that Mary Kay was not just about work but it was a mission, a movement, a revolution to make the status of women better. <\/p>\n
Moreover, the employees do not just sit and wait for their superiors to direct them when it comes to charity works but voluntarily takes up initiatives in their own little ways. Even in Dimapur, Mary Kay Inc. directors led by Asenla Longkumer, ESSD visited \u2018Mothers Hope\u2019 on December 15, and shared their vision of helping women.<\/p>\n
Mary Kay Inc. going by the slogan \u2018One woman can\u2019, has been working towards enriching women\u2019s lives and making them self sustainable, confident and feel beautiful inside out. <\/p>\n
It has also been religiously following a campaign – \u2018Beauty that counts\u2019, where the company chooses two lipsticks every year and a portion of the sales of each lipstick goes to the Mary Kay ash foundation for charity works. <\/p>\n
In response to a query on \u2018How Mary Kay Inc. spread its wings in a state like Nagaland?, Hina, who was here in Dimapur last week, said that when it was first launched, many joined the company for side income but gradually most of them became full time employees. <\/p>\n
She also added that women in Nagaland as well as in other northeastern states were enterprising, willing to go out of their home and they were more cosmetic conscious as compared to other states in India. <\/p>\n
Explaining more on the company, Hina said that the company not only entrusts the employees to sell but to understand the products by taking them for exposure trips and vocational trainings conducted by top achievers of Mary Kay Inc. or other reputed companies. <\/p>\n
Concerning market demands, Hina said that Nagaland was a potential market because women here were passionate about maintaining their looks. <\/p>\n
She also added that the company has launched \u2018small size packages\u2019 of the cosmetics and creams exclusively for India market as per consumers\u2019 demands. \u201cSmall is big this year,\u201d she stated. It may be mentioned that Mary Kay Inc. <\/p>\n
Will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on September 13 for which a special edition perfume \u2018Dance to life\u2019 was launched in January. <\/p>\n
In relation to the anniversary, Hina disclosed that \u2018some of the ladies\u2019 from Nagaland will be chosen to go to Dallas in United States if they accomplish their sales target. <\/p>\n
Another appealing bonus is that all the top directors of the company along with their husbands will be going to Suncity in South Africa, which will be one of a lifetime trip, exclusively sponsored by the company.<\/p>\n
Explaining on why the Mary Kay Inc. gives away fabulous gifts to the employees every now and then, Hina narrated the story of Mary Kay Ash, the founder of the company, who worked for 20 years in a direct selling firm before she launched her own. <\/p>\n
Once Mary Kay Ash was presented a tool kit as a gift from a company she worked for, of which she was not very impressed and with that incident in mind, she resolved that when she launches her own company she will give \u201cCinderella gifts – things you want but cannot buy\u201d. <\/p>\n
Hina also said Mary Kay Inc. was different from other companies because of its values. It believes in balancing priorities, where God comes first then family and lastly career. <\/p>\n
Adding that with God in one\u2019s life, good things come automatically; sharing one\u2019s business plans with family members was very important and lastly to be sincere to one\u2019s profession.<\/p>\n
The second value was the golden rule – \u2018Do to others as you would have them do to you\u2019. The third was \u2018Go give\u2019, which means supporting fellow colleagues despite of one\u2019s position in the company. It may be mentioned that Mary Kay Inc\u2019s, the most coveted award is \u2018Go give award\u2019. <\/p>\n
The final value is \u2018Praising people to success\u2019. Mary Kay Inc. believes in acknowledging every small achievement, which motivates its employees, the country manager asserted.<\/p>\n
