Come December 2, the state will witness the Korea-India festival at New Secretariat plaza, Kohima.\n\u201cThis is one truly international festival which is jointly collaborated by government of Korea and government of Nagaland\u201d said Abu Metha, producer, Korea- India festival while addressing a press conference on Saturday at Dream caf\u00e9, Kohima, adding the state will be hosting an international event. The show is managed by renowned event management team XL.
\nDr. Nicky Kire, adviser Music Task Force (MTF) lauded the effort and initiative of the state chief minister as well as for making the Korea-India festival to be held on December 2, a reality.
\nHe also said there are tremendous talents among Naga youths in the field of music and called upon them to expose their talents and to find way of becoming professionals, earning fame for the state and country at various levels.
\n\u201cA total of 15 delegates from Korea led by Lee Sung Wan, vice President of Ariang TV will be coming to Nagaland\u201d, disclosed Theja Meru, director Korea-India festival.
\nTop Korean celebrity singer and dancer VJ Isak (VJ of Pops in Seoul) and renowned singer Ilac, local artists and Boomerang band from Mizoram, he said, will take the stage on December 2.
\n\u201cThere will also a special event for the clubbers and all music lovers with VJ Isac on December 3 at 3.00 pm at Kisama, Korean Booth\u201d he added.
\nAirang TV, under the department of Youth Affairs and Culture, government of Korea, has million viewers world wide in 180 countries.
\nAn interesting feature of the festival will be solo competition where 10 Nagas singers will vie for prizes to be given by Airang TV.
\n\u201cThese are the Naga youth who will be singing (solo) in Korean\u201d, Theja Meru disclosed.
\nAbu Metha, Producer Korea-India festival said the festival would bring people closer with better understanding and friendship amongst the people of Korea and Nagaland.
\nThere are plans to carry forward the festival, he said, and revealed that as a follow up, next year, a team from Nagaland would go to Korea.
\nBesides, various artists from of Mizoram and Manipur will also take part in the event.
\n\u201cThe concert will also witness Manipuri sword dance, and performance by various local artists, he added.
\nThe organizers are expecting a huge turn out for the Korea-India festival.
