The workshop is being sponsored by north eastern institute of folk medicine, department of AYUSH, ministry of health and family welfare government of India, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\nAddressing a press conference Tuesday at Tourist Lodge, resource persons said the main purpose of the workshop was to identify the genuine local healers and help them in forming an association.<br \/>\nBesides these, the workshop aim to make the people aware about the rich bio-diversity of the region and to help stop the region from bio-piracy.<br \/>\nThe workshop will be graced by Dr. Bal Gopal Unni, Deputy Director NEIST, Jorhat and Area Coordinator Biological Sciences as the chief guest.<br \/>\nThe following resource persons will deliver on the topics, Prof. N. S Jamir (Dept. of Botany, NU): Traditional Knowledge of Ethno-Bio-Medicine in the state of Nagaland, Prof. S. K. Borthakur (Dept. of Botany, G.U), by Dr. Sharma Shankar (In charge NEIFM, Pasighat AP) and Dr. K.K. Brahma, RRI (Ayurveda) Itanagar.<br \/>\nThe program will also include exhibition of medicinal plants and local formulations used by the traditional healers for curing various ailments.
