{"id":5660,"date":"2008-11-09T01:33:44","date_gmt":"2008-11-09T01:33:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/11\/09\/lshss-attains-25-years\/"},"modified":"2008-11-09T01:33:44","modified_gmt":"2008-11-09T01:33:44","slug":"lshss-attains-25-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/11\/09\/lshss-attains-25-years\/","title":{"rendered":"LSHSS attains 25 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/HAXUXPOKCTOEVRTTVMHO.jpg>Minister of urban development and higher education Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie Saturday said the world has stepped into an era of competition and under such situation \u201ccomplacency has no place\u201d especially in school education.<br \/>\nSpeaking as chief guest at the silver jubilee celebration of Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS) Dimapur, the minister said private school should not remain satisfied with their achievement but should think of achieving greater heights at par with rest of the world stating private school still have much room for improvement.<br \/>\nHe said that the celebration was a time to thank the pioneers of the school and acknowledge their achievements and contribution and also plan for the next generation. Sh\u00fcrhozelie also pointed out the important role of parents and guardian and also forming \u2018Parents Teachers Association\u2019 a concept which was setup in 1895 for better coordination between the school management and parents towards better educational system. Lauding the school management for its achievements and development made so far, the minister said \u201cof all the development we talk about, development of human resource is the most important area as we must march forward to catch up with the rest of the country\u201d<br \/>\nAlumni and parents joined in at the jubilee celebration to congratulate and acknowledge pioneers P. Paira and Nini Sekhose administrator of the school and to pay respect to them for the achievement made so far.<br \/>\nCongratulating the school for marking 25 years of \u2018excellence through grace\u2019, guest of honor, Nini Meru chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education said the board could produce good result only when good schools go up. With the upcoming schools in the state and the good result LSHSS produced so far, chairman said the board was in a position to declare that educational status of the board has improved. She also lauded the good result the school had produced so far and urged that the school management would continue to bring children in the fear of the Lord.<br \/>\nSenior citizen Yajen Aier, who attended the jubilee celebration expressed happiness that LSHSS which started with a humble beginning had come up to achieve 25 years. He said that under the leadership of Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie, education would continue to open the eyes of the people.<br \/>\nEarlier, prayer of blessing was pronounced by Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, Pastor Angami Christian Revival Church and words of acknowledgement by Principal Kenei Mepf\u00fco. The programme of song and music was chaired by vice Principal Sentila Ao who is also an alumni of the school. Besides presenting souvenir to the guests, best student, best hotelier and best participant of the year were awarded by chairman of NBSE.<br \/>\nSpecial highlights of the programme were \u201cwe thank thee\u201d a song of thanksgiving by well known Jim reeves of the North East L.L Muana of Churachandpur, piano recital and special songs by LSHSS choir. Besides alumni and well wishers, the celebration was attended by ANPSA president Aheto and a host of guest from education department.
