{"id":5842,"date":"2008-08-20T01:16:13","date_gmt":"2008-08-20T01:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/08\/20\/development-plans-for-dist-headquarters\/"},"modified":"2008-08-20T01:16:13","modified_gmt":"2008-08-20T01:16:13","slug":"development-plans-for-dist-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/08\/20\/development-plans-for-dist-headquarters\/","title":{"rendered":"Development plans for dist. headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>: In a major step, the State Government through the Department of Urban Development has taken the initiative for preparation of Development Plans for ten district headquarter towns in the State.<br \/>\nAccordingly, M\/s Lea Associates South Asia Private Limited had been appointed as \u201cconsultants\u201d for preparation of Development Plans for ten district headquarter towns excluding Kohima town, which already has a City development plan in place.<br \/>\nCommissioner &#038; secretary, Urban Development, Temjen Toy in a press release said the consultants would prepare infrastructure investment strategy and capital investment plans for these ten towns, which will outline the stakeholders\u2019 vision of the town, assessment of the present infrastructure level in the town, analyze the town\u2019s prospect for sector development and identify priority sectors. The development plans would focus on issues of locational planning by various sectors and the implied requirements in terms of enhancing the town\u2019s productivity, management and financial sustainability.<br \/>\nThe consultants would also, through consultation with all relevant stakeholders and through consolidation of reports and data, prepare the Infrastructure Investment Strategy for the towns.  The development plan is to be completed within four months (by November 2008).<br \/>\nThe commissioner further informed that the Department of Urban Development, Nagaland was also in the process of preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for various infrastructure projects in the following towns- Peren, Tseminyu, Meluri, Sechu, Shamator, Naginimora, Pughoboto, Bhandari, Pungro, Mangkolemba, Satakha, Medziphema, Pfutsero, Aboi, Tuli, Noklak, Chumukedima and Changtongya.<br \/>\nAn assessment of the infrastructure requirement of the respective town would be made and two or three infrastructure project DPRs prepared for each town, he added.<br \/>\nThe DPR will then be submitted to the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA), as applicable, for sanction under various applicable schemes of the two Ministries.<br \/>\nThe services of \u201cLocal\u201d consultancy firms shall be engaged for preparation of the DPRs.
