According to the Nagaland Women Commission (NWC) she was allegedly raped and murdered and the body was found after four days of search by the villagers. Condemning the incident, NWC member Ellen Konyak stated that such kind of occurrences must be seriously investigated and every Naga and Konyak\u2019s in particular must vigorously condemn the incident. She further said that women, young and old, should never be allowed to move out of their homes alone freely before sunrise and after sunset and requested the police to find the culprit at the earliest and award fittest punishment as per the Indian penal code and never grant bail to the person involved.
