{"id":59738,"date":"2010-05-24T00:04:07","date_gmt":"2010-05-24T00:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2010\/05\/24\/ctc-to-make-chumu-a-model-town\/"},"modified":"2010-05-24T00:04:07","modified_gmt":"2010-05-24T00:04:07","slug":"ctc-to-make-chumu-a-model-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2010\/05\/24\/ctc-to-make-chumu-a-model-town\/","title":{"rendered":"CTC to make Chumu a model town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/CXAGTJYITMXFMPGXOQQL.jpg>The advisory committee members of Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) have pledged to make Chumukedima, the proposed headquarters of deputy district administration, a model town and to set an example to other town and municipal councils in transparency and accountability. <br \/>The five CTC members led by chief advisor Thepfulhoutuo Sh\u00fcya convened a joint meeting with GBs, DBs, elders and public leaders of Chumukedima at CTC hall on Saturday and apprised the public about the activities of the council after the advisors  assumed charge on April 22 last. <br \/>The chief advisor in his opening address said that the main focus of the council was on sanitation and price of essential commodities. <br \/>Sh\u00fcya said that in an effort to check the price of essential commodities, the CTC had done away with the \u201cTender system,\u201d which would benefit the consumers as prices of goods would decrease since a third party will not be involved after the tender system was abolished. <br \/>He also informed that council would streamline tax system at check gates, shops and other demands so that common man was not burdened. <br \/>Stressing on sanitation, Sh\u00fcya said CTC was on a war footing to clear, repair and construct drains. <br \/>He also appealed to the public to have civic sense so that travelers and others passing through Chumukedima do not make negative comments about the town. <br \/>CTC advisor Razouvotuo K Chatsu also said council was doing its best to make Chumukedima a clean and beautiful town. <br \/>He said that the council was in the process of installing more garbage bins and putting up parking signs. <br \/>Other CTC advisors including Seyie-u Keyho, Meribeni Lotha and Arenba Longkumer also dwelled on activities on their respective departments. <br \/>CTC advisors also said that installation and repair of street lights will be done on priority basis. They also informed that a common slaughter house (abattoir) will be set up soon. <br \/>EAC Chumukedima and CTC administrator, B Henok Buchem, in his address lauded the dedication of CTC advisors to bring changes in the functioning of the council. <br \/>The administrator said that in the past one month, the town has witness positive and noticeable changes.
