The organization, in a letter to minister of public health engineering (PHE) on August 18, expressed concern that Nagaland, even after 47 years of attaining statehood, was facing the crisis of availability of clean and safe drinking water for the population of the state capital. Citing excerpts from State Women Empowerment Policy 2007 which ensured women\u2019s participation in planning, delivery and maintenance of services like drinking water and sanitation provisions, organization questioned the government on programs regarding its water policies. <br \/>Pointing out that the state government had the \u201clegal duty\u201d to protect its natural resources, TWO urged the government to control unrestricted tapping of underground water and demanded that available amount of water for Kohima be judiciously distributed to all.
