One such glaring case of landslide occurred in Merhulietsa colony were a house belonging to S. Imli Ao, a cooperative bank employee, built in 2004 with an estimate cost to Rs.25 lakhs was fully damaged and needed major repair and renovation. <br \/>The cause of the damaged is mainly due to the lack of proper drainage and loose soil. <br \/>S. Imti Ao informed the in 2004 a landslide committee was formed and approached the then school minister and urban development minister for the construction of protection wall and drainage system , but yet till date no positive step was taken up. He also urged the government for immediate grant in aid for repair and renovation of the affected areas. <br \/>Meanwhile Dr. Nicky Kire also recently had visited the affected areas in the colony.
