{"id":60752,"date":"2010-08-26T00:09:41","date_gmt":"2010-08-26T00:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2010\/08\/26\/cms-sectt-refutes-assam-allegations\/"},"modified":"2010-08-26T00:09:41","modified_gmt":"2010-08-26T00:09:41","slug":"cms-sectt-refutes-assam-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2010\/08\/26\/cms-sectt-refutes-assam-allegations\/","title":{"rendered":"CM\u2019s sectt. refutes Assam allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Describing the allegation made by one Assam government spokesman Tuesday, that the Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu was instigating violence in the Arunachal border with Assam through the help of the NSCN(I-M), the chief minister\u2019s press secretary described it as  \u201ctotally baseless and unfounded.<br \/>Condemning the allegation, the chief minister\u2019s secretariat in a note issued through press secretary Abu Metha said the \u201cwild allegations\u201d were inflammatory in nature and politically motivated. The note said a responsible government and leader was not expected to make such inflammatory statements without any basis  and justification. <br \/>Further, the press note  said the  people of the two states would continue to coexist as friendly neighbours and called for resolving all disputes and outstanding issues through negotiations. It said the disputes be solved  under the spirit of understanding and mutual respect so as to maintain friendly relations and peaceful mutual coexistence.<br \/>However, the PS said \u201cissuing of such immature statements and baseless allegations will only create enmity and mistrust and responsible leaders should refrain from such unbecoming behaviour.\u201d<br \/>NPF resolution <br \/>The Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) has condemned the statements made by the Assam government against Nagaland and state chief minister Neiphiu Rio on the recent  border violence between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. <br \/>The NPF in a resolution rubbished the allegations as  \u201cbaseless and unfounded, inflammatory in nature and politically motivated\u201d.<br \/>This was among the seven-point resolutions adopted at the NPF meeting of its central office bearers,frontal and cells and division presidents Wednesday.<br \/> The meeting welcomed the formation of the Joint Legislators Forum on the Naga political issue at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and extended support to the forum and its initiatives. The NPF appreciated the forum\u2019s meetings with all sections of the people including ex-parliamentarians, civil societies, church leaders, NGOs, mass based organizations and tribal hohos. <br \/>The party reiterated its appeal to all sections of Naga society to come together under the spirit of unity and oneness and pursue the aim of unity and reconciliation. It also appealed to the negotiating parties of the peace process to expedite the talks and bring the political dialogue to its logical conclusion through a settlement that would be honorable and acceptable to the people. <br \/>Further, the party resolved to continue to support the integration of all continuous Naga areas in order to bring the Naga family under one administrative umbrella and opposed any move to disintegrate and divide the state of Nagaland. <br \/>Expressing serious concern on the recent tribal conflict in Kiphire district, the NPF appealed to all communities to respect each other and maintain brotherly relations and resolve issues and disputes through negotiations and refrain from creating any further escalation of tension between communities, especially through paper wars in the local media, <br \/>The party also welcomed and extended support to the resolution adopted by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on the ownership and transfer of land and its resources which included minerals, petroleum, and natural gas, etc as provided in the Constitution of India under Article 371- A, Special Provision with respect to the state of Nagaland.
