{"id":6135,"date":"2008-08-24T18:40:24","date_gmt":"2008-08-24T18:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/08\/24\/vehicles-stranded-on-nh-39\/"},"modified":"2008-08-24T18:40:24","modified_gmt":"2008-08-24T18:40:24","slug":"vehicles-stranded-on-nh-39","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/08\/24\/vehicles-stranded-on-nh-39\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicles stranded on NH-39"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Subsidence at a road stretch on the National Highway 39, between Zubza and Kohima continues to cause severe disruption of normal traffic for over two weeks as a few hundred trucks remain stranded.<br \/>\nFor the  seventeenth day Saturday,  over 140 goods-laden trucks remained stranded at the Zubza side, as they awaited their turn to move ahead due to severe regulation on flow of traffic.<br \/>\nKohima traffic police regulate traffic by allowing small vehicles to move first and then the big trucks etc.<br \/>\nMost of the perishable goods  meant for Kohima and other parts of Nagaland were damaged as they could not be unloaded in their respective destinations for days.<br \/>\n The Border Roads Task Force(BRTF)is grappling with the problem and unable to do anything more than dumping boulders at the sinking area.<br \/>\nAccording to an agency report, Police said that some of the trucks are carrying goods beyond their capacity, but due to want of the Weigh Bridge, they are compelled to allow the vehicles through the sinking area.<br \/>\nWhile commodities are available in Kohima, the prices have risen. However LPG refills are getting scarce   which some of the hoarders are selling at Rs 700 per cylinder.<br \/>\nDisruption of traffic has also been reported in other areas where landslides blocked roads.
