The team first visited \u2018Mithun Farm\u2019 at Jharnapani under the guidance of Dr. Kobu Khate, veterinary officer and watched fifteen minute long documentary film (Journey Ahead) elucidating mithun projects at Jharnapani.
Dr. Kobu Khate interacting with the students informed that the figure of Naga Scientists in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry was very less. Therefore he encouraged the students to study science and become scientist in these fields.Students also visited the farm and laboratories of ICAR.
In DIMUL, Hari Prasad, Marketing Officer, DIMUL showed the milk plant and explained the different stages of milk processing. Later at the conference hall, students interacted with the marketing officer and were treated to ice-creams.
At Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre (NBRC), 6th mile, students watched the bamboo charcoal production kilns in three different technologies, bamboo treatment plant, bamboo handicraft centre, bamboo based gasifier unit with 100 KVA capacity, different varieties of bamboo, NBRC Nursery, etc., under the guidance of Lipok, an officer of NBRC. The students were overwhelmed seeing charcoal being produced in the shaped of \u2018iddli\u2019, floor tiles and toys all made up of bamboo with excellent finishing work.
Meanwhile, students of class eight has expressed gratitude to principal, Johny Abraham for organising the tour stating the students learnt a lot about animal husbandry, agriculture and the importance of bamboo. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
