Speaking on the occasion, NPCC president, S.I Jamir commented on lack of Congress MLAs from the district and urged all rank and files to win seats through hard work and perseverance.
He said being part of INC was a matter of pride for one need not maintain double standards at the state and national level.
On political stand of the party, Sungit maintained the policy of the party was to maintain equal relationship with all factions and sections of society.
He said neither NPF nor any party can bring about settlement but could be achieved only through mutual understanding.
Former finance minister, K. Therie maintained that NPF failed to protect the people of Nagaland especially NPF Phek.
He expressed Nagas were over-administered and overruled by multi government, adding \u201cWhat Nagas want today is one Govt, decent govt. and a God fearing govt.\u201d.
He urged leaders of all Naga groups to come together to settle political predicaments.
Delivering the welcome address, PDCC president, Mikha Kenye urged NPCC to have political will to address the aspirations of people.
Short speeches were delivered by Lanpha MLA and Sedem Khaming former minister and vice president NPCC I\/c Phek district.
Nillo Rengma former minister and vice president (Admn) NPCC lamented on failure of NPF led DAN government on all fronts.
He said MGNREGA which was a Congress programme has been hijacked, adding the only scheme DAN government were the Road Shows which have failed miserably.
Highlighting various instances, Dr. K. Hoshi, chairman media Cell PDCC said political discrimination and economic exploitation meted out upon Congress party workers, supporters and people of the district by the DAN government brought the people to the lowest rung of suffering.
In this regard, he urged NPCC to strengthen the efforts of PDCC in delivering justice and equality to all citizens.
He said DAN Govt.\u2019s corruption had catapulted the Christian state of Nagaland to that of the most corrupt state in the nation.
Voicing to the sentiments of people in the district, Vaprumu Demo said district Congressmen and women were in full support of new NPCC team and urged for assistance in uprooting people\u2019s problems.
The programme also honoured veteran Congressmen of the district followed by prize announcement and presentation for essay competition organized by NSUI Phek.
Phek DCC meanwhile expressed that they were proud to be members of the oldest Democratic Party in the world under whose movement, India secured sovereignty. Phek DCC further extended support in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, president, AICC and chairperson, UPA and in the leadership of S. I. Jamir, president, NPCC.
The unit also decided to unearth the corruption of the government and lodge complaints in the respective grievance cells, while also resolving to file police FIR if any discrimination or corruption was detected in the dispensing of MGNREGA funds.
Village units, ACCC and DCC office bearers have been directed to ensure that they file FIRs if any such cases come to their knowledge.
Any government servant or VDB\/employment assistant found violating guidelines would be taken to task as per the provisions of law, stated Phek DCC.
Phek DCC further decided to advise NPCC to take up with the Election Commission of India on the issue of violation of representation to the People Act 1952 and Universal Adult Franchise and urged NPCC to carry forward the aspiration of people to expedite the Naga political talks to a logical conclusion. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
