\nReiterating NUTA\u2019s earlier demand for recall of the vice chancellor, eight executive members of NUTA in a letter addressed to President of India, Pratibha Patil, who is also the Visitor of Nagaland University, sought the President\u2019s intervention in this matter.
\nNUTA said the association would be forced to take its own course of action if the demand was not met with.
\nNUTA in the letter alleged that the vice chancellor had on August 25, suspended CEC NUTA president Rosemary Dziivichu and secretary general Dr. N. Venuh without issuing any show cause notice or citing any valid reason.
\nRosemary is a lecturer in English Department while Venuh is a Reader in History Department.
\nThe VC used Section 10 of the Central Civil Service (Classification, Control and appeal) Rules, 1965 which, NUTA said, was not applicable to Central University teachers.
\nNUTA also said the Statute of the Nagaland University ensured that every employee had the right to appeal against any show cause.
\nClaiming that the VC was victimizing the two leaders of NUTA, the association demanded Kannan to immediately revoke the suspension orders.
\nNUTA further alleged that in the midst of the visitorial inquiry, the VC had precipitated a situation by harassing and victimizing the teachers who sought inquiry against him and other officials.
\nIn another letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor, NUTA demanded unconditional revocation of the suspension orders, failing which NUTA warned it would resort to drastic measures for which the vice chancellor would be held sole responsible.
\nNUTA sources said copies of the letter were also sent to the President of India, joint secretary, MHRD, chairman, UGC, and State Governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
