\nThe NSCN (I-M) said it would not hesitate to respond in a befitting manner as deemed necessary by its government if the Assam Rifles continued with their present trend.
\nAccording to a statement issued by the MIP, NSCN (I-M), the Central Administrative Officer (CAO) and his bodyguard were physically harassed by the 13 Assam Rifles without any provocation.
\nThe Assam Rifles seized two country made 3.2 pistol with four magazines, one handmade carbine with one magazine which were meant only for the CAO\u2019s personal guard and safety from unforeseen dangers, all region documents along with six TR books meant for House tax and Live Census tax endorsed and issued by the \u201cKilo Affairs\u201d and cash amounting to Rs.20,000\/-, it stated.
\nThe NSCN (I-M) questioned the \u201chabitual intentions\u201d of the Assam Rifles which it said have become almost a \u201cdaily occurrence\u201d in total contravention of the mutually accepted cease-fire ground rules.
\n\u201cIronically, something was seen to have gone wrong with the Assam Rifles in the region which ever remains the same that could jeopardize the hard-earned peace in Nagalim\u201d the statement said.

\nMeanwhile, issuing clarification in connection with the arrest of two NSCN (I-M) members in Pf\u00fctsero town January 18 last, the Assam Rifles today said the activists were apprehended while they had gone to collect \u201ctax\u201d in Pf\u00fctsuro town.
