\nIt was alleged that the second ADA arrears from June 1, 1998 to April 30, 2007, amounting to Rs. 90, 52,000 (ninety lakh fifty two thousand) had been misappropriated by some officers of the department.
\nExecutive convener and Marchizung Action Committee convener of Mokokchung Mechanical Field Workers Association, Sungjemkaba, told this correspondent that arrears meant for work charge employees were siphoned off and that the beneficiaries were not given their due share.
\nThe Association alleged that serious anomalies relating to arrears scam, which had been going on for years, were detected only when the arrears list was released to Association in December 2007.
\nSome of the anomalies in the arrear list, according to the association include bogus names, some names figuring twice or thrice while names of some genuine beneficiaries were dropped out.
\nPointing out that there was a further deduction of 12% in the second ADA arrears, the association said some members of the association and officers of the department were behind the \u201cimproper\u201d deduction.
\nIt was also alleged that the department had turned a deaf ear to the pleas of the association members to address their grievances.
\nWith no options left but equipped with evidences, the association is now planning move to the court for redressal of their grievances and has sought the co-operation and support from all in their fight for justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
