SP Kohima, Renchamo P. Kikon (IPS) through a press statement however said the new alignment, being a single-lane road, would be permissible specifically for \u201cUP Heavy vehicles\u201d transporting essential commodities, LPG, P.O.L (Petroleum, Oil &#038; Lubricants) and other perishable commodities etc to other parts of the State and neighbouring Manipur.  It said the restriction was necessitated since the repair and restoration works was still in progress. The SP further informed that Bypass road shall continue to be used for other normal and regular traffic, both \u201cup and down vehicles\u201d.
