{"id":6284,"date":"2008-09-06T00:57:14","date_gmt":"2008-09-06T00:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/09\/06\/nyeiwang-focuses-on-quality-education\/"},"modified":"2008-09-06T00:57:14","modified_gmt":"2008-09-06T00:57:14","slug":"nyeiwang-focuses-on-quality-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/09\/06\/nyeiwang-focuses-on-quality-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Nyeiwang focuses on quality education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Underscoring the need for quality education, minister for School Education &#038; SCERT Nyeiwang Konyak has said the State Government in partnership with private schools, was endeavouring to provide quality education to every child in the State.<br \/>\nAddressing the state level Teachers\u2019 Day celebration at Kohima local ground on Friday, the minister said as a first step towards improving the quality of education in Nagaland, the State government had notified prescribed eligibility for appointment of teachers. He also said the government was giving priority to teachers\u2019 education and training.<br \/>\nThe minister said the State\u2019s communitization of education had achieved considerable success and called upon the School Education department to ensure that communitization was spread to both rural areas and urban areas at the grass root level.<br \/>\nExhorting the teachers, Nyeiwang said qualified teachers beget quality education and urged teachers to uphold their profession through exemplary services.<br \/>\nHe also called upon teachers to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge so that the students derive maximum benefit.<br \/>\nThe minister also apprised of the country\u2019s programme on Universal Access to Secondary Education, following Universalization of Elementary Education, and urged the teachers to be more dedicated and sincere to achieve this objective.<br \/>\nHe also said the management of both government and private schools needed to work in close coordination in order to succesfuly implement any education policy or programme.<br \/>\nNyeiwang further said the community should lend active support to teachers in their task of nurturing young minds.<br \/>\nOn the occasion, the minister also presented the State Teachers\u2019 Award to twenty six teachers including twenty one government teachers and five private school teachers.<br \/>\nTeachers\u2019 Day wishes from the President of India, Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan and chief minister, Neiphiu Rio were also read out.<br \/>\nEarlier, additional chief secretary Banuo Z. Jamir delivered the welcome address as well as keynote address.<br \/>\nOther highlights included welcome song presented by students of Mt.
