{"id":6316,"date":"2008-09-09T00:42:14","date_gmt":"2008-09-09T00:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/09\/09\/pgsu-lauds-govt-panel-on-nu\/"},"modified":"2008-09-09T00:42:14","modified_gmt":"2008-09-09T00:42:14","slug":"pgsu-lauds-govt-panel-on-nu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/09\/09\/pgsu-lauds-govt-panel-on-nu\/","title":{"rendered":"PGSU lauds govt panel on NU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Post Graduate Students\u2019 Union (PGSU) of the three campuses of Nagaland University (NU) have appreciated the concern shown by the State government in forming a committee headed by the chief secretary to look into the ongoing crisis in NU.<br \/>\nA joint statement issued by PGSU presidents of the three campuses also appreciated the concern shown and steps taken by NGOs, hohos, students\u2019 and civil organizations towards resolving the crisis.<br \/>\n\u201cTheir concern and initiation to resolve the most needed need of the students will go to the annals of the university history,\u201d PGSU said.<br \/>\nThe union also appealed to the teachers and vice chancellor, Nagaland University, to resolve their differences in the most amicable way in the larger interest of the students.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, in a letter to the vice chancellor, the PGSU reminded that the union\u2019s ultimatum served to the vice chancellor on September 2, had expired September 8.<br \/>\n \u201cWe are pained to note that till the expiry of our ultimatum our demand of uninterrupted resumption of academic activities was left attended. However, in the larger interest of the University in particular and our society in general, we have sacrificially resolved not to take immediate course of action,\u201d the letter said.<br \/>\nIt also stated that the \u201cunanimous decision\u201d of the PGSU came after a successful deliberation with the committee formed by the State Government headed by the Chief Secretary and other NGOs and student bodies.<br \/>\n\u201cOur interest is to pave way for discussion, understanding and amicable solution to the ongoing crisis in the University,\u201d the union said.<br \/>\nHowever, PGSU cautioned that in the event of failure to resolve the ongoing differences between the VC\u2019s office and NUTA within \u201cpermitted patience,\u201d the union would be compelled to take its own course of action without any further notice.   <\/p>\n<p>NUTA demand <\/p>\n<p>DIMAPUR, SEPT 8 (NPN): Nagaland University Teachers\u2019 Association, NUTA (L) has reiterated its earlier demand for immediate and unconditional revocation of the suspension order imposed on NU teachers along with dropping of the article of charges leveled against the teachers.<br \/>\nNUTA (L) in a press statement said this would help create conducive atmosphere for teachers to resume their normal duties.<br \/>\nNUTA\u2019s statement comes following the appeal made by the vice chancellor Monday to the heads and deans to resume classes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Post Graduate Students\u2019 Union (PGSU) of the three campuses of Nagaland University (NU) have appreciated the concern shown by the State government in forming a committee headed by the chief secretary to look into the ongoing crisis in NU.
