At the outset, Additional Director of Geology and Mining, S.K. Kenye presented the introductory speech on the awareness and preparedness for disaster management and mitigation saying that prompt response can be life&#8217;s best saving weapon and mitigation in any case of eventual disaster. He also presented an overview of the recent devastating earthquake that hit China citing examples from the suffering and the actions taken in the natural catastrophes. He added that one should not panic in time of natural catastrophe but should instead be firm and quick in taking proper action for saving himself and others.<br \/>\nJoint Director, Wathang gave a brief and practicable talk on preparedness and public awareness on different aspects of disaster mitigation.<br \/>\nMining Engineer, Tsuknung Jamir expressed words of appreciation for the co-operation extended by the public and the church for the success of the programme.<br \/>\nAssistant Geologist, David Lhoupenyi was the departmental IT incharge in the programme. Pastor, Town Baptist Church Pf\u00fctsero, Rev. Dr. N.
