Hectic preparation is on for the grant commemoration.<br \/>\nGoing back to August 1958, where the foundation of the present School was founded by Lt. Samuel Mezhur Sekhose, father of Atuo Mezhur Sekhose, Managing Director MHSS with vision and humble beginning to instill the seed of education.<br \/>\nThe School was first established in the year 1958 under its name Little Flower School (L.F.S.) till 1962, where the nomenclature of the establishment &#8220;Little Flower School&#8221; was given to the nuns in 1963 and thereby the then Kohima English School came into existence in the same year 1963, starting with Class A-VI.<br \/>\nSince then, this establishment have produced many of our today&#8217;s bureaucrats, technocrats, social workers, scholars, politicians, theologians etc in our State and even outside.<br \/>\nThe nomenclature of Kohima English School was again changed in 1998 to Mezhur Higher Secondary School, where at present there are about 2500 Students from Nursery to Higher Secondary with 73 teaching staff and 13 ministerial staff.<br \/>\nThe School is very well known for its excellence academic records, especially in HSLC exam since 1975, where Class-X was first introduced. Since 1975, altogether 2109 students have appeared HSLC exam out of which, 2097  have passed the examination with 78 toppers in merit list with 842 distinctions with 31 highest marks in different subject and 7students securing the 1st position in HSLC.<br \/>\nIn HSSLC section from 1997-2008, total number of students appeared in final exam is 1375 of which 1365 passed where 6 toppers in merit list with 143 distinctions and 35 highest marks in different subjects.<br \/>\nAlumni and well wishers of this Premier Educational Institute will be taking part from within and outside the State in this Historic event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the pioneers in molding our State in the field of education is all set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee on September 19 at its School premises, Kohima at 10 am with Dr. Shurhozelie, Minister for Urban Development &#038; Higher Education, Nagaland as the chief guest.
