{"id":6427,"date":"2008-09-19T01:04:53","date_gmt":"2008-09-19T01:04:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/09\/19\/nuta-l-reacts-to-vc\/"},"modified":"2008-09-19T01:04:53","modified_gmt":"2008-09-19T01:04:53","slug":"nuta-l-reacts-to-vc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/09\/19\/nuta-l-reacts-to-vc\/","title":{"rendered":"NUTA (L) reacts to VC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Reacting to the statement of vice chancellor, Nagaland University, demanding the teachers to resume their duties, the Nagaland University Teachers\u2019 Association, Lumami Campus, NUTA (L), has said the teachers were performing and discharging their assigned duties till they were forced to be out of the classroom by \u201cunilateral action of suspending\u201d as many as eight teachers by vice chancellor Prof. K Kannan.<br \/>\nNUTA (L) in a press release informed that the association in a general body meeting held Thursday also deliberated on the vice chancellor\u2019s statement that the University authorities were always open for talks to negotiate all genuine outstanding problems.<br \/>\nStating that teachers had always been willing for dialogues and deliberations on issues relating to the functioning of the Nagaland University, NUTA (L) alleged it was instead the University authority which had not paid any heed to the<br \/>\n\u201cOver and above this, the coercive, punitive and unilateral action of the Vice Chancellor has created this present impasse\u2026 That the teachers reaffirm and reiterate their stand that till the authority revokes the suspension and drops the charges unconditionally it would be difficult for them to resume the academic activities,\u201d the association added.<br \/>\nIn a separate press statement, Nagaland University Teachers\u2019 Association, Medziphema (NUTA-M) also reiterated the demand for unconditional revocation of suspension orders issued to eight teachers of Nagaland University.
