\nYTC in a strongly worded joint press statement issued by its president, Thsesong Yimchunger; vice president Kius Chuba; general secretary, R. Thsanso; joint secretary, S. Tokiu; spokesperson, Toshi Wungtung and executive chairman, Shellumthong alleged that the Tisary region cadres under the directive of one Kurechu have been trespassing, intimidating, threatening and assaulting the innocent Yimchungers including village custodians and elders.
\nIt pointed out that the Pungro Area Public Forum and Pungro Area GBs Association were issued summon letters on September 19, 2008 at Lalure village with threats to deploy GPRN\/NSCN army. The YTC alleged that GBs, VCCs, VCMs and village guard alongwith some public were arrested on September 21 and 22 without any rhyme or reason whose whereabouts are still unknown.
\nYTC said its president was also threatened on October 5, 2007 directing him to resign by the Tisary region. It made mention of the representations and press releases issued with regard to taxation and administration on jurisdictions of Yimchunger Regional Authorities (whose jurisdiction is from Khunga to Hirupping) and the Tisary region under GPRN\/NSCN.
\nIn this connection, the tribal council demanded to know if Kurechu and other cadres were officially assigned to carry out the above mentioned activities as claimed by them to have been \u201cdirected from the highest authority\u201d. It demanded appropriate disciplinary action against the culprits if they were found doing so on their own and immediate ban on collection of taxes and assigning any official assignment to them within Yimchunger jurisdiction.
\nThe Council said it shall be compelled to withdraw all co-operation and the Yimchunger Naga national workers as well if the authorities responsible failed to take any action within two weeks from the date of publication of the press release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
