Imchen whom the NPCC accused of violating the oath of secrecy to the Indian constitution.
Stating that “such substandard statement” did not merit response, NPCC however asserted that the record needed to be set straight over the issue of the 1998 assembly elections.
It said while the regional party had boycotted the elections, the Congress and independents contested and were elected unopposed in most constituencies.
In this regard, NPCC pointed out that chief minister Neiphiu Rio, minister planning T.R. Zeliang, minister roads and bridges G. Kaito Aye, minister power Doshehe Sema and former Congress MLAs now in the Naga People’s Front (NPF) had been elected as Congress candidates in 1998.
NPCC reminded that the above former Congressmen enjoyed full five-year term and therefore, the NPF should now ask them and not the Congress, to explain.
It also said the NPF should also explain why it accepted the above former Congressmen if the NPF was still opposed to the Congress’ participation in the 1998 election.
It also pointed that it was for intellectual readers to see if “Imkong L. Imchen’s rubbish statement as appeared on June 11, 2011 behove well his position and stature.”
NPCC added that the “Congress has no taste or pleasure” to respond to “all rubbish arrogantly thrust out by NPF or Imkong L. Imchen.”
NPCC reiterated its charge that “the Shillong Accordist NPF” was responsible for “unaccounted fratricidal killings”. Slamming NPF, it asked “why compensation related to three incidents only?” adding there should be no partiality as “compensation should be paid to all villages and towns that suffered loss since 1956.”
NPCC accused the NPF of “foolishly trying to botch up the Naga political issue by propounding new hypothesis without knowing the consequences it is going to bring.”
In this, NPCC said the NPF first questioned the Congress as to whether the 16 Point agreement and stathood “was full stop for Congress”?
NPCC said now the NPF was blaming Congress that the booklet Bedrock of Naga Society “had blocked the gate for fresh political settlement.”
It demanded to know which central leader stated that and reminded the NPF that it has to answer why it had not raised any objection on August 31 2005 if it did not agree that the booklet was a closed chapter.
NPCC charged the NPF of being hell bent on keeping alive the booklet Bedrock of Naga Society and cautioned the Congress will not be responsible “for any negative fallout from the NPF’s hypothesis.”
Taking on NPF Farmers’ Wing president Lanukaba’s for saying that Nagas needed many Imkong L. Imchen to raise the Naga issue, NPCC asked how many times had Imkong L. Imchen, whom it described as a “ a pseudo-regionalist” moved a resolution on the Naga political issue in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly?
NPCC said if the NPF thought that debating on the Naga political issue would help the Naga political groups to find a solution, why can’t its stalwarts who were in the party since inception, take the state and debate with the Congress on the issue?
NPCC said the Naga political issue “is dying from accusations and counter-accusations related to the past” and opined it needed to be given a futuristic dimension, based on history and philosophy for a permanent settlement.

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has described the press rejoinder issued by the NPF Farmers’ Wing president Lanukaba who sought to defend home minister Imkong L.Imchen over allegations of making anti-constitutional remarks on the 16 Point Agreement, as “the worst press statement of the decade”.NPCC media cell dismissed Lanukaba and said “being straight from the kheti, […]

[679

post-65353","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news
["GET
