They said Khekiho\u2019s statement was a \u201clengthy discourse to paint the Congress as anti-Naga\u201d which was \u201can imitation\u201d from his \u201cpolitical saviour Shri Neiphiu Rio, the chief minister of Nagaland\u201d.
They said Khekiho raised issues such as \u2013the 16 Point Agreement,Bedrock of Naga Society, Disturbed Areas Act\/AFSPA, the 1998 general election, imposition of President\u2019s Rule in 2007 and launching of the NPF unit at Senapati Manipur, \u201cto score his points.\u201d
On Khekiho questioning whether the 16 Point Agreement was worth it or not, the NPCC vice presidents asked whether he(Khekiho) knew if he is also included among the group of \u201cover-ground leaders,whom he charged of hijacking the underground leaders?\u201d. They reminded that all those leaders who have been taking part in Nagaland state elections fall under the \u201cover-ground\u201d category since, by doing so, \u201chave joined the band-wagon of Naga People\u2019s Convention(NPC)\u201d
Further they pointed out that Khekiho \u201cis a Naga MP today because of 16-Point Agreement\u201d and therefore when he (Khekiho) termed the agreement as a \u201cblunder\u201d, he has \u201clost the constitutional right to continue as MP.\u201d
Responding to the issue of 1998 assembly elections, they said Khekiho should instead ask chief minister Neiphiu Rio, R&B minister G.Kaito, Planning minister T.R. Zeliang, power minister Doshehe and all those former Congress MLAs now in the NPF \u201c to explain because they also got elected unopposed as INC candidates\u201d.
The NPCC vice presidents dismissed other points raised by Khekiho as not meriting any response but took him on for declaring \u201chis willingness to sacrifice any day for the interest of the Naga people.\u201d
They challenged Khekiho to \u201cimmediately\u201d make the sacrifice and resign \u201con moral ground because he is a charge-sheeted accused in the Sugar Mill VRS scam and cases are pending against him in the industrial transport subsidy case.\u201d They asked whether these issues were \u201c not the interest of the Naga people?\u201d
The NPCC vice presidents further asked Khekiho to spell out what he has done for the Nagas as an MP on the Naga political issue. They asked how many times had he met the prime minister of India and the union home minister \u201cto personally discuss the Naga issue?\u201d They also wanted to know how many times had he raised the Naga political issue on the floor of the upper house and what sort of \u201cintellectual people\u201d had he met and for how many time, \u201cto disseminate on the Nagas\u2019 right?\u201d
They maintained, that if he (Khekiho) had not done \u201cthese basic home works, he has no moral right to lecture on the Nagas on Naga political issue.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
