{"id":65552,"date":"2011-06-24T00:26:45","date_gmt":"2011-06-24T00:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/06\/24\/police-refutes-gvc-claim-2\/"},"modified":"2011-06-24T00:26:45","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T00:26:45","slug":"police-refutes-gvc-claim-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/06\/24\/police-refutes-gvc-claim-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Police refutes GVC claim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Refuting the claim of Ghowoto village council (GVC) that \u201cencroachers\u201d from Jalukielo village escorted by IRB personnel had fired upon Ghowoto villagers, published in local dailies June 23, the Dimapur police Thursday said the allegation was \u201cfar from the truth\u201d.<br \/>Face off between Ghowoto village, under Dimapur district and Jalukielo village, under Peren district erupted June 22 supposedly over a land dispute where road developmental works were underway.<br \/>Terming the claim of GVC as \u201cunfounded and false allegations\u201d against security forces who were deployed to prevent untoward incidents from taking place as a result of simmering tension in the bordering villages, Dimapur police PRO, in a statement, clarified that IRB personnel stationed at Kakiho on learning of firing incident rushed to the area to take stock of the situation and to prevent further escalation of the problem between the two sides. <br \/>\u201cThe arrival of IRB personnel prevented the situation from taking a serious turn and prevented in loss of life and property,\u201d the PRO said.<br \/>On allegation that on June 14, the \u201cencroachers\u201d had abducted six persons from howoto village while working in the fields and that IRB posted at Kakiho did not take any action when the matter was brought to their notice citing the said dispute did not fall under their jurisdiction, the Dimapur police said the claim<br \/> was a result of misinformation and a sign of lack of incident sharing on GVC\u2019s part.<br \/>The police said on June 14, the IRB stationed at Kakiho were not informed of the abduction by Ghowoto villagers.
